Just a reminder that posting for the ficathon starts on August 15th! You will need to be a member of the comm to post. Authors who don't have LJ's should email me their stories to ncisficathon at gmail dot com and I'll post on your behalf. You have four days after that (i.e. till August 20th) to post your story. Pinch hitters, you have the deadline that you were told. Make sure you support your fellow authors by reading and commenting on the fic written for you and the others posted (assuming that you read the pairing etc.). Nothing is more demoralising for an author than the person you've written for never commenting on your story. Watchers of the comm: please comment if you've read and enjoyed a story! Comments feed authors and keep us writing.

Your story must be posted directly to the comm and not on your journal. That is, do not post the full fic at your personal LJ and link to it from here on the comm, but rather post the full fic here on the comm. Feel free to post a link on your journal to the post here on the comm, but otherwise, after the posting period is over you can post to your journal and crosspost to fanfic communities as you want. If you have a multi chapter story (or a story that is too big for one post), post each chapter in an individual post and link the chapters both back and forward so people can easily navigate. Use a LJ-cut (info in the LJ FAQ, or ask, if you're stuck) to cut the story, but not the header information. If you're new to LJ-cuts you might want to have a practice on your LJ on private setting first to see how they work.

Writers will get no more than 3 weeks beyond the posting deadline to finish their stories (i.e. by the 5th September). You will still need to post your story directly to the comm as above but if it's outside the posting period I ask that you leave posting to your journal/crossposting for a day after you've posted here. If you've had something medically wrong or your computer died or you're just plain busy, I'm sorry, but your story will be passed to a pinch hitter. If I cannot get in contact with you at all, you will be banned from participating in the ficathon for a year.

I will put up a post on the 15th saying that the posting period is open. Please tag your entries with the appropriate tags (including the round 6 tag) to make my life easier (I've got to add the entries to the memories as well as tag which can be rather painful). Pinch hitters, please indicate that it is a pinch hit and use the pinch hit tag.

Please use the header information that was listed in your assignment email, that is:
