Title: The Worst of Evils
Author: [livejournal.com profile] rinkle (Rinne)
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] celtic_sky
Archive: Yes, but ask permission first
Rating: Teen
Warnings/Spoilers: Spoilers for up to part way through season 3, probably around 3.04 Silver War
Genre: Gen
Pairings: None
Word Count: Around 4500
Disclaimer: I do not own anything and am not getting paid
Prompt: Tony, gen, angst. "I can endure my own despair, but not another's hope."
Summary: A missing girl and a look through Tony’s life.
Author's Note: Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] pixie_on_acid and [livejournal.com profile] kate98 for betaing, particularly at the last minute. The title is taken from the quote: Hope is the worst of evils, for it prolongs the torments of man, by Friedrich Nietzsche. The case is loosely based on the Daniel Morecombe case, a 13 year old boy who disappeared around Christmas in 2003 from a bus stop in Queensland.

[livejournal.com profile] celtic_sky, you know how you said that whoever I was writing for was going to be lucky to get a longer fic? Well, that would be you ;-P Hope you enjoy it.

The official posting period has ended.

What this means is that people who have already posted can post their stories elsewhere. Thank you to everyone who has managed to post in this period.

Everyone else has until Friday to post their stories, or to give me a reason why it will be later than that. I will have internet access again on Friday and will start contacting people who have not posted to find out why, and to see whether I need to reassign their stories.

If you post any time now, please leave it a day before you post your stories elsewhere, out of courtesy.

I hope everyone has enjoyed this, and have enjoyed the stories, and I'm looking forward to more to read.
